Mymensingh – The state-run election awareness campaign ‘Vote-er Gari’ (Vote Car) has launched in the northern city of Mymensingh, featuring patriotic songs performed by young artists and electoral campaign videos displayed on LED screens.
The mobile “election caravan” arrived at the local circuit house grounds at 8:00 am on Thursday as part of a nationwide campaign for the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum on the July Charter. The election is scheduled for February 12, 2026.
Mymensingh District Information Office Director Mir Akram welcomed the artists and crew.
From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, the circuit house grounds bustled with crowds despite the winter chill. The event commenced with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus’s electoral video message.
Songs like ‘Amar-i Desh Shob Manusher‘ (My Country Belongs to All People), ‘Tirhara Oi Dheuer Sagar Pari Dibe Re‘ (We Will Cross That Waveless Ocean), ‘Rail Lain-er Oi Bostite Jonmo-chhilo Ekta Chele‘ (A Boy Was Born in That Railway Slum), and ‘Shob K’ta Janala Khule Dao Na‘ (Open All Those Windows…), alongside the electoral videos, captivated the audience.
Members of the campaign also set up an open writing board titled ‘Desher Chabi Apnar Hate‘ (The Key to the Country is in Your Hands) and a public opinion box beside the caravan. Young viewers wrote their comments on the board.
Following the event, the caravan departed Mymensingh for Netrakona district town.
The District Information Office, which is handling the government’s campaign for the election and referendum, stated that the caravan will tour other parts of Mymensingh from December 28 to 30.
“Bangladesh is passing through a crucial time. Ahead of us are the national parliament election and the public referendum on the implementation of the July National Charter,” Chief Adviser Yunus said in his video message.
With this goal, ten decorated (‘Vote-er Gari’) vehicles have begun their journey. They are scheduled to travel across all 64 districts and 300 constituencies nationwide, going door-to-door to provide information, raise awareness about voting rights, and spread the message of democracy.
