Dhaka – Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has announced that comprehensive funding will be allocated in the upcoming budget to sustain the Family Card project taken up by the BNP government that assumed office in February.
“The government is actively identifying and rectifying initial implementation errors to ensure the flagship project’s long-term success,” he said while briefing newsmen at his office in Dhaka.
Chowdhury categorized the Family Card project as a flagship initiative of the current government, ensuring it receives top priority in national planning.
The fiscal plan for the next year will include all necessary provisions to support and expand the programme, he said adding that budget would not be a barrier for this project.
The government is prepared to provide whatever funding is required to meet the project objectives.
He noted that this remains a critical policy decision to ensure social safety nets reach intended beneficiaries without financial constraint.
Chowdhury noted that through the ongoing process of correction and coordination, the government aims to establish a near-flawless system for service delivery.
The minister reiterated that the successful implementation of the Family Card project will remain a cornerstone of the government’s commitment to social welfare and inclusive development.
