Dhaka – US-Bangla Airlines, Bangladesh’s leading private carrier, has announced yet another special humanitarian flight to repatriate passengers stranded in the Middle East, as the ongoing regional conflict continues to disrupt air travel.
In a new announcement on Wednesday, the airline confirmed it will operate a flight on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Abu Dhabi-Dhaka route, in addition to its previously announced two special services on the Dhaka-Dubai-Dhaka route.
The initiative aims to bring home Bangladeshi nationals left stranded by the widespread airspace closures triggered by the escalating US-Israel-Iran conflict, which has engulfed the entire region.
According to a press statement, the Dubai services will be operated using a 436-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft under flight numbers BS-341 (Dhaka-Dubai) and BS-342 (Dubai-Dhaka).
- The first Dubai-bound flight is scheduled to depart Dhaka on Wednesday at 7:20pm (BST) and return from Dubai at 12:20am (local time).
- A second service will depart Dhaka on Thursday at 5:15pm (BST) and return from Dubai at 10:00pm (local time).
In a fresh announcement made Wednesday morning, the airline stated that it would also operate a special humanitarian flight on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Abu Dhabi-Dhaka route today.
- The flight will depart Dhaka for Abu Dhabi via Chattogram at 6:35pm (BST) and leave Chattogram at 8:20pm.
- The return service will depart Abu Dhabi at 1:00am (local time) for Dhaka.
This service will be operated using a 189-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft under flight numbers BS-349 (Dhaka/Chattogram-Abu Dhabi) and BS-350 (Abu Dhabi-Dhaka).
Airport authorities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have granted special permission to US-Bangla Airlines and several other international carriers to operate limited humanitarian flights, acknowledging the extraordinary situation in the Middle East.
The airline confirmed that priority will be given to Bangladeshi nationals whose visas have expired or are nearing expiration.
The statement also said that the initiative will facilitate the return of dozens of stranded aviation professionals, including 28 flight crew members of the national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, who have been stranded at various destinations in the UAE since February 28 due to the suspension of their airline’s flights.
Passengers seeking tickets or further assistance have been advised to contact US-Bangla Airlines sales offices in Bangladesh or the UAE, authorized travel agencies, or the airline’s dedicated hotline numbers.
