Dhaka – The ailing wife of pilot Abid Sultan died at a hospital in Dhaka on Friday, 11 days after Sultan died in a plane crash in Nepalese capital Kathmandu, according to hospital sources.
Afsana Khanam, who suffered stoke following the death of her husband, breathed her last at the National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospital in the capital at about 9.30 am, said, Khorshed Mahmood, a doctor of the hospital.
Khanam’s funeral prayer will be held after Asr prayers at Gausul Azam mosque of Uttara-13. She will be buried by the side of her husband’s grave at the Banani military graveyard.
Abid Sultan and 49 others passengers of the US-Bangla airlines killed after the flight crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu on March 12. All four crew of the flight were among the 26 Bangladeshi nationals killed in the mishap.
All the 26 bodies were brought back to Bangladesh for burial. The three-last bodies were brought back on Thursday.
