Two suspected Islamists militants captured in Chittagong

Chittagong – The security forces have captured two suspected Islamists militants of a banned group in the south-eastern Bangladeshi district of Chittagong, police said on Thursday.

Officer Poritosh Ghosh said that they arrested the members of Ansarullah Bangla Team during raids from Bakolia area in the port city.

The detainees were identified as Nijamuddin, 22, a student of Law department of the Chittagong University and Rokan Uddin,22, a garment worker.

The suspected militants were planning to carry subversive activities in the city, said the officer.

Police lodged a case against them and produce before a Chittagong court as they were charged in anti-terrorism law.
