
Dhaka – Hundreds of students of Willes Little Flower School and College staged demonstration to protest the murder of an eighth-grade student of the school in Dhaka on Monday.
The protesters put blockade at Kakrail intersection asking for arrest and trial of the killer of Suraya Akhter Risha (14). Vehicular movement remained halted for hours as they continued the agitation.
Risha, daughter of Md Ramzan Ali, a resident of Bangshal of old Dhaka, was stabbed by assailants in Dhaka’s Kakrail neighbourhood on August 24 while going to her home from school.
The girl died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
The protesting students stood position on the intersections about 11am and blocked the road in front of the school, chanting the slogan – “We want justice… we want trial of Risha’s killer.”
