Dhaka – Sakib Khan’s three recently released films were well discussed among viewers even before they got released. Experts are saying, these films have created new viewers and restored the long lost pride of Dhallywood.

Movie theatres are timing with people even after seven days of the release and this clearly shows the viewers started returning to Dhallywood.

These are the most discussed movies of this year because of Sakib’s new appearance, his involvement as a producer and pairing up with actress Shrabonti has put the films in the centre of discussion.

Manager of Modhumoti cinema hall Rezaul Karim said, the movie was suppose to be released on Friday but Eid was on Thursday, so we were able to release it on the vacation of Eid.

“We did very good business compared to the timeline of last six years. The theatre was filled with people from the day of Eid till now and 95 per cent of the tickets are being sold,” he said.

The film was collaboratively directed by Zakir Hossain from Bangladesh and Joydeep Mukherjee from Kolkata. It was released in 98 theatres this Eid. It has earned Tk 3.63 crores in just seven days after release.

“Somrat” was one of the successful films, which was released in 75 theatre halls and got extended to 9 more from the second week. It has earned quite the name compared to the other two big budget films Shikari and Mental.

“I thought people will avoid coming to the theatre after the deadly terrorist attacks in a Gulshan restaurant but the ongoing flow of viewers have changed my mind”, said Director Mostafa Kamal Raz.

“People have started watching my films alongside the other films, which fills me with joy” continued Raz. It is clear that the king Khan has come back in the hearts of people.

The film “Mental” was released in 193 movie theatres across the country but the producer Parvez was not able to do good business like the others.

He said, “This is the first time Tisha and Sakib Khan has paired up in a commercial film”. According to latest update, the film has earned Tk 2.57 crore in five days after release.
