Road crashes kill 11 in Tangail, Syelhet

Dhaka – At least 11 people were killed in road accidents in Tangail and Sylhet on Saturday, a day after more than 10 others killed in similar accidents.

Seven passengers of a bus were killed after a bus rammed into a truck in central Bangladeshi district of Tangail. More than 30 others were injured in the accident that occurred at Ichail of Mirzapur sub-district at around 7.15am, officer Mainuddin said.

Three of the victims were identified as Rahima Begum, 32, hailed from Rajarhat sub-district of Kurigram district, her son Bayzid, 7, and Salma Begum, 24, wife of Mominur Rahman, of Mohadebpur village in Ulipur sub-district of Kurigram district.

The police officer said Savar-bound bus from Kurigram collided with the truck at the area, leaving 5 five people killed on the scene. Two others died at a hospital.

Private broadcaster channel24 reported the four people were killed in an accident in Sylhet.
