
Dhaka – Hundreds of people have been seen queued at Kamalapur railway station Monday after the state-run Bangladesh Railway began selling advance tickets ahead of the Muslims’ Eid-al-Adha celebration, officials said.
The railway authorities began selling the tickets for September 7 on the first day. The counters opened at about 8:00am, as per the schedule.
Officials said that each passenger will be allowed to purchase four tickets. No ticket will be refunded once it is sold.
The Railway arranged the advance tickets selling to ensure hassle-free travel during the festivals.
The railway will distribute tickets of September 8, 9, 10 and 11 respectively on August 30, 31, and September 1 and 2.
The return tickets of the railways will be available at railway stations in Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat after the Eid-ul-Azha. The tickets will be put on sale on September 5, 7, 8 and 9 for September 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 respectively.
