Gazipur – Two suspected militants were killed in a raid conducted by the security forces at a home in in Gazipur on Saturday, police said.

The suspects killed in a gunfight erupted after the lawmen raided the home in Chhayabithi residential area of central Bangladeshi district of Gazipur. The forces initially cordoned off the home suspecting presence of a group of militants and conducted the operation in the morning , an officer said.

Members of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit, Rapid Action Battalion, Special Weapons and Tactics and police launched the operation inside the house of Harinal area of the district.

The operation began in the morning at the hideout located about 30 kilometers north of the capital Dhaka.

An officer of Joydebpur police station confirmed about the search operation saying that details of the special drive will be disclosed after the end of the operation.
