Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the officials concerned to explore new destinations for skilled Bangladeshi workers abroad.

“We have to find new employment areas and new destinations (for sending workforce). We will arrange training for them,” she said while delivering the speech at the second meeting of the national steering committee on expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment at her official Ganabhaban residence.

The Prime Minister also called upon the expatriate Bangladeshis to send remittance through banking channels.

Hasina mentioned that the government had already started sending workers to a few new countries.

“But, we need to send skilled workforce and that is why we’ve arranged multipurpose training facilities for our workers,” she said adding that creating skilled workforce would make the opportunities for attaining economic solvency.

She also asked the officials concerned to rake a good care of the Bangladeshi expatriate workers abroad and encourage them to send remittance using legal channels.
