Dhaka – Owners of petrol pumps have threatened a nation-wide strike for August 28 to press 12-point demands, including enhancement of commission on selling fuel and tank lorry fare.

Convener of the Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners-Workers Unity Council Nazmul Haque announced the programme at a press conference on Saturday in Dhaka.

He said the association will go for further agitation unless the government pays heed to their demands.

The association also demanded accident insurance equivalent to Tk 500,000 for tank-lorry workers and stop harassment by police on the highways.
