Normalcy return to Dhaka on Wednesday after the government lifted the nationwide restrictions imposed earlier to contain the tide of novel coronavirus infections.
Most of the public and private offices, businesses and shopping malls reopened and the transportation services resumed both within cities and long haul ones.
Bangladesh witnessed a lengthy lockdown which was begun in April this year with days of recess during the two Muslim festivals of Eid-al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha celebration.
The lockdown was made stricter after the case numbers were raising since the arrival most transmissible Delta variant in June. Offices, shopping malls and transportation across Bangladesh were shut during this period.
Employees at their workplace were seen passing busy hours to bring order. Public transportation services were seen plying on the streets carrying passengers at their full capacity.
Few buses carried passengers beyond their capacity, ignoring the Covid-19 health guidelines. Trains and ferries are also began operations on different routes across Bangladesh.
