
Dhaka – Foreign Minister Abul Kalam Abdul Momen has pledged to work on the feasibility of launching direct flight between Dhaka and Paris as he was requested by the Bangladeshi expatriate in France.
The minister’s promise came at a reception accorded to him by the Bangladeshi community in Paris, according to a press release issue on Saturday from the foreign ministry in Dhaka.
The release said during the reception, the minister pledged to work with the French authorities to launch Dhaka-Paris direct flight. Currently, no flight flies directly between the two cities.

He also assured that the government would take steps to improve services at the airport in Dhaka, where passengers are harassed frequently.
Jalalabad Association of Paris accorded the reception, which was attended by two mayors and a handful of councilors from various French cities.
The French representatives praised Bangladesh for its proactive role to promote climate change related issues and adopting innovative approaches to combat the menace of climate change.
The minister also inspected the consular section of Bangladesh mission in Paris to gain firsthand knowledge on amenities and services being provided for the expatriated and the others. He talked to the service seekers during his visit on Friday.
The minister was updated on the Paris Embassy’s preparedness for the celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Momen also attended a reception hosted by France unit of the Awami League as chief guest.
