Mitu murderer will not be spared, says Minister

Dhaka – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that the murderer of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, wife of a counter-terrorism police officer, will not be spared.

“They will not be brought to book after proper investigation,” said the minister while briefing on the occasion of International Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking Day in Dhaka.

“We arrested two or three in the connection of Mitu murder and we are hoping to arrest all the accused as early as possible,” the Home Minister said.

Mitu was murdered by unknown assailants in the port city of Chittagong when her husband Babul Akhter was in the capital Dhaka on June 5.

To a question about Babul’s interrogation on his wife murder, the Home Minister said, “Babul was taken to identify the suspects and they were interrogated in front of Him.”

The Minster also said to call the plaintiff (Babul) as many time as needed to interrogate for the benefit in solving the case.

Three assailants came on a motorbike on June 5 hacked her with sharp weapons and secured dead with point blank shoot in front of her six year old child.

Police arrested five suspects in the murder case and claimed to arrest all the three suspects directly took part in the killing mission seen in the CCTV footage seen on the roadside cameras.

Police took Babul for interrogation from his Father-in-Laws residents from capitals Meradia area for interrogating him in connection of his wife murder case.
