Dhaka – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said none other than Bangladeshi nationals will be allowed into Bangladesh territory as reports that there were attempts to push-in hundreds of people by Indian border guards in the northern frontier.
“There is nothing to be panicked. None other than Bangladeshi nationals will be allowed,” Kamal told reporters at his office on Tuesday as his attention was drawn on reported push-in bids by the Indian guards.
He said troopers from paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh were alerted. They are capable of thwarting any attempt of push-in, he added. “They are guarding the frontier with that capability.”
He said that nearly 100 people were attempted to cross into Bangladesh through northern Rajshahi border. The authorities concerned were examining whether they are Bangladeshi, whether they have their passport or visa timeline expired or under any other complexities that they want to come back to Bangladesh.
“I can assure you that if they are national of any other country, they will not be allowed into Bangladesh,” he said.
