Dhaka – Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is likely to join the ruling Awami League party’s national council slated for October 22-23 in Dhaka, a senior party leader said.
Joy, who is also the ICT affairs adviser of the Prime Minister, will join as a councilor for the first time, said Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, a joint general secretary of the party.
The Prime Minister’s son will represent Rangpur district, where the ancestral home of Joy is located.
Hanif came up with the information while addressing a meeting of the office sub-committee for the 20th national council preparatory committee at the political office of the AL president in Dhanmondi.
The AL’s national council will elect leaders for the next three years.
