Indonesian minister to visit Bangladesh for discussion over Rohingya crisis

Dhaka – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka Monday on an official visit to Dhaka for discussion on issues related to Myanmar’s crisis over Rohingya Muslims.

State-run Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha news agency reported that Marsudi will be Dhaka for two days and will discuss bilateral issues and matters related to Rohingya crisis.

The Indonesian foreign minister will fly to Bangladesh in the evening from Myanmar where she is joining a meeting called by Aung San Suu Kyi over the crisis.

Myanmar State Councellor and Foreign Minister Suu Kyi convened the meeting to discuss about the issues relating to Rohingya crisis in Rakhine State of Myanmar.

During her Dhaka visit, Retno Marsudi will hold bilateral talks with her Bangladesh counterpart AH Mahmood Ali on Tuesday when she is expected to ‘discuss Rohingya crisis and other bilateral issues’, the agency reported quoting foreign ministry officials.

She is expected to leave Dhaka on Tuesday night.
