Indian mission gifts books to educational institutions to mark Mujib Barsho

Dhaka: – The Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday gifted books written by famed local authors on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the Liberation War to 100 educational institutions in Bangladesh to mark Mujib Barsho.

Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, the Deputy Minister for Education, thanked the High Commission for the “notable initiative” at an even organised by the high commission. He reiterated the “extraordinary strength and warmth that India and Bangladesh relations enjoy.”

Riva Das Ganguly, the Indian envoy, described Bangabandhu as the “most influential and courageous leader of the 20th century” and one who laid the foundations for India-Bangladesh relations.

She expressed hope that through these books, students in 100 universities and colleges would better appreciate and understand Bangabandhu and help realize his dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’.

The event was participated by a select group of vice chancellors from BUET, Dhaka, Khulna University, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Rajshahi University and the CVASU, Chittagong).
