
Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday asked the manufacturers to go for diversified products and find new markets of Bangladeshi goods keeping in mind the changing demands across the globe.
“More diversification of exportable products is still required,” she said handing over National Export Trophy for the year 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 on in Dhaka.
At least 113 business enterprises were awarded the national export trophy, as they played a role in overseas trade for those years. Fifty-two establishments were given gold medals, 37 silver and 34 bronze medals.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed presided over the trophy distribution ceremony organised jointly by the commerce ministry and the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau.
The Prime Minister said her government is ready to provide all sorts of support for business promotion and product diversification.
“The incumbent government didn’t come to power to do business, but it would like to create a friendly atmosphere for business, industrialization and investment,” she said.
Hasina urged the entrepreneurs to set up industries in the specialised zones she had planned to get all facilities needed for industries.
The prime minister also honoured highest exporters of various sectors for 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 fiscal years.
Twenty-four establishments are selected for the gold medal for FY12.
They are: Refat Garments, Square Fashion, Square Textiles, Noman Waving, Zaber and Zobaer Fabrics, Apex Foods, Popular Jute Exchange, Akiz Jute, Apex Tannery, Picard Bangladesh, FB Footwear, Agri concern, Oran Exports, Rajdhani Enterprise, Karupanna, Rangpur, Bengal Plastic, Far Ceramics, Uniglory Cycle, Thanvir Polymer, Beximco Pharma, Service Engine, Universal Jeans, Shasha Denims and Montrims.
The establishments which have received silver medals are: Ananta Apparels, GMS Composite, Mosharraf Composite, Envoy Textiles, Seamark (BD), F R Jute, Janata Jute, S F Industries, R M M Leather, Farm Fresh, Pran agro, Capital Enterprise, Ever Bright Plastic, Transworld bicycle, Al Habib Enterprise, Graphics People and jeans-2000.
Nine establishments have received bronze medals. They are Sinha Industries, Four H Fashions, Viealatext Spinning, Paramount Textiles, Kuliarchar Sea foods, Reza Jute, Karim Jute Al-Azmi Trade and Pran Foods.
Twenty-six establishments are getting gold medal for FY13. They are: Refat Garments, GMS Composite, Kamal Yearns, Sad Sun Textiles, Zaber And Zobaer, Noman Terry Towel, Apex Foods, Popular Jute, Akiz jute, Apex Tannery, Picard Banglaesh, F B Footwear, Al-Azmi Trade, Pran Dairy, Rajdhani Enterprise, Karupanna, Rangpur, Bengal Plastic, Far Ceramics, BRB Cables, Merin Safety System, Sqare Pharma, Graphics People, Universal Jeans, Shasha Denims and Montrims and Meer Telecom.
Nineteen establishments that got silver are: Ananta Apparels, Square Fashions, Badsha Textiles, Envoy Textiles, Seamark (BD), Unilarence Textiles, Janata Jute, Reza Jute, S F Industries, MM Leather, Service Engine, Pacific Jeans and Zaber and Zubaer Accessories.
The establishments that have achieved bronze medal are: Apparel Gallery, Intersoft Apparels, Mosharraf Composite, Talha Fabrics, Jalalabad Frozen foods, Uttara Jute, Sadat Jute, Bengal Leather, ABC Footwear, Footbed Footwear, Alin Foods, Pran Foods, Helal and Brothers, EFL Plastic and Uniglory Papers and Packaging.
