Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home ending
her three-day official visit to Spain where she attended the annual climate
conference.
Hasina joined the Heads of State and Government Summit of the
COP25 in Madrid.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines special flight carrying the
premier and her entourage members landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International
Airport (HSIA) early in the morning.
The COP25 of the United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC) is being held from December 2-13 in Madrid under the Presidency
of Chile and with logistical support from Spain.
Hasina who left Dhaka for Madrid on Sunday attended the inaugural
ceremony of the conference at Feria de Madrid (IFEMA), the largest exhibition
complex in Spain, and held a bilateral meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark
Rutte.
President of the European Council Charles Michel later paid a
courtesy call Hasina. She also joined a general roundtable titled “National
plans to increase ambition by 2020” and a dialogue titled “Enhancing Action
Together” between governments and civil society.
The Prime Minister had a meeting with Spanish President Pedro
Sanchez at Feria de Madrid (IFEMA). She also attended a community reception in
Madrid.
