Four suspected female members of JMB captured in Dhaka

Dhaka- The security forces have arrested four suspected members of the female unit of a banned militant outfit in Dhaka, police said on Tuesday.

Crime-busting Rapid Action Battalion detained the female members of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB)from Dhaka’s Mirpur neighbourhood.

The battalion said among them was an adviser of the militant organisation’s female wing.

Number of jihadi books, notes, and documentaries and, audio and video files were also seized from their possessions, said according to a short message sent by the elite force. The outfit is responsible for carrying out attacks in 2005 that killed at least 30 people in different places of Bangladesh.

The the recent attacks on a Dhaka resturant was also carried out by the JMB, according to the law enforcement agencies despite the Islamic State, a radical Islamic group active in Syria and Iraq, claimed the attacks that killed 20 civilians, mostly foreign nationals on July 1.
