Dhaka – A fire broke out at a factory in central Bangladeshi district of Gazipur, said officials on Sunday.

The incident occurred at a spinning mill in Shafipur Bazar area in Kaliakoir sub-district in the morning, said firefighters.

Firefighting units from Dhaka and Gazipur have been trying to douse the flame that originated from a thread warehouse of Jamuna Denim Recycling Plant, said officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

Apurba Bal, an officer at the Gazipur civil defence, said the blaze also engulfed the Jamuna Thread Storage, Finishing Section and Jamuna Recycling factory.

No casualty was reported.
