Factional clash kills two AL activists in Kustia

Kustia – Clash between rival groups of the ruling Awami League party has left two persons killed and scores others injured in the south-western Bangladeshi district of Kustia, police said on Saturday.
The infighting incident occurred in Jhaudia area of Sadar sub-district in the morning leaving Iman Ali, 35, and Shahabuddin, 55, killed.
Dilip Kumar, an officer of Jhaudia police outpost, said the groups — one led by union chairman Keramat Ali and another by former chairman Bakhtiar – were in a feud for a long period to establish control over the area.
The injured are being treated at Kustia General Hospital while the bodies are kept at the hospital morgue.
