Eid-al-Adha on September 13

Dhaka – The Muslim festival of Eid-al-Adha will be celebrated across Bangladesh on September 13, the Islamic Foundation said on Friday.

The foundation came up with the decision after the National Moon Sighting Committee headed by the religious affairs minister reported that the moon of the Arabic month of Zilhajj was not seen anywhere in the country.

Eid-al-Adha is considered the second largest religious festival of the Muslims. On this day, the Muslims sacrifice animals for the blessings of the God. The government announces a three-day holiday during the festival.
