Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has alerted the nation for the second time to be on guard against a possible second wave of COVID-19 attack in Bangladesh as some countries are seeing a new surge of the deadly virus.
In Britain alone a record number of cases have been recorded for a single day in the past few days, while curfew has been clamped in some parts of France.
The premier’s timely alert will help Bangladesh to avert any major disaster if we abide by the health regulations, especially wearing face masks.
The number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths has come down considerably in the past one month, and we pray that the second wave will spare Bangladesh.
Two things must be assured to avert any disaster if the country is hit by the second wave of coronavirus that has so far killed more than 5,600 people.
One is ensuring proper tests of suspects by upr4ooting remaining graft in the health sector and the other is urgent new powerful media or street campaigns to make the people heed to the alert.
Hospital and health services must immediately go on full alert so that proper treatment is available and no lives are lost.
Bangladesh has so far recorded 5,681 deaths and 390,206 cases, but the recovery rate is increasing..
We thank the prime minister for not only her timely alert, but constantly monitoring the situation which has saved many from falling prey to COVID-19 and of course for lesser number of deaths.
Let us all raise our hands to pray to Almighty Allah to have mercy on the people of Bangladesh by saving us from the second wave.
