Dhaka – The authorities on Monday announced the much-awaited schedule of the Dhaka University Central Student Union elections with voting date on March 11.
Chief returning officer of the election Professor Mahfuzur Rahman announced the election to the DUCSU and the dormitories of the university.
The last election to the DUCSU was held in 1990 and since then the university central student union, which is supposed to look after the social, political and cultural wellbeing of nearly 30,000 students, remained unrepresented because of legal complexities and a unstable campus situation.
The voting in the election will begin at 8am and run through 2pm inside residential halls of the university. The final voters roll for the election will be announced on February 20.
The returning officer of the elections aid the nomination papers distribution will continue from February 19 to February 25.
The last date of submission of candidature is February 26 while the withdrawal on March 2.
The election authorities will publish the final list of the candidates on March 3 after scrutiny.
