DMCH writes police to take away militant bodies

Dhaka: Dhaka Medical College authorities have written to the police authority asking to take away the bodies of killed militants.

Family members of the killed militants denied to take away the bodies.

Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, confirmed newsnextbd.com about receiving a letter from the Dhaka Medical College Hospital authorities in this regard.

Currently, there are seven freezing chambers at the state run hospital are out of order, said Sohel Mahmud, assistant professor at the hospital’s Forensic and Medicine Department.

“The rest are being used to keep the body of the militants.”

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that the relatives of the slain militants are yet to apply to receive the dead bodies.

Among the dead bodies of the 13 militants in the DMC morgue, nine are of those killed during Kalyanpur raid, three in Narayanganj raid, and one in Mirpur raid.
