Deputy Secretary arrested over corruption

Dhaka – Bangladesh’s anti-graft watchdog on Monday detained a mid-level officer of public administration ministry over corruption charges, officials said.
A team of the Anti-Corruption Commission picked up Mohammed Amin, a deputy secretary of the ministry from Dhaka’s Moghbazar area as he was accused in amassing ill-gotten assets, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, public relations officer of the ACC, said.
Amin has allegedly earned Tk 48.67 lakh (around 5 million) beyond his known sources of income, the public relation officer said.
The anti-graft body launched an investigation into the alleged corruptions.
