2022 JCI World President Argenis Angulo & 2022 JCI Bangladesh National President Niaz Morshed Elite visited the Cancer Awareness and Screening Program for Breast and Colorectal Cancer organized by JCI Dhaka Central. The event was presided by Habibur Rahman Jewel (Habibi Jewel), the local President of JCI Dhaka Central, at the Bangladesh University Campus in the capital on Monday afternoon. The program focused on the “Close the Care Gap” concept which is the international slogan of World Cancer Day, 2022.

“Transgender community” were invited and participated actively in this Screening & awareness program. JCI Dhaka Central ensured to provide cancer awareness knowledge to at least 20 members of the Transgender community and has taken the responsibility for Transgender cancer patients who will be diagnosed by this project. The inauguration event of this project was held under the leadership of Local President, JCI Dhaka Central Habibur Rahman Jewel (Habibi Jewel) along with Project Director Dr. Cynthia Afreen, Project leaders- Dr. Quazi Taif Sadat and Raihan Tutul who have successfully made hundreds of people being aware of breast & colorectal cancer.

The “Close the care gap” project will be guided by the direct supervision of the Cancer Specialist of Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital Dr. Nusrat Hoque for the next 3 years. This project will raise awareness about cancer in Bangladesh by overcoming all obstacles (care gaps) by JCI Dhaka Central, a local organization of JCI Bangladesh. The chief guest, JCI World President Argenis Angulo, welcomed this initiative of the young generation of Bangladesh and stated that there is no alternative to such steps to take the nation forward. These activities will improve the health, education, and economic growth of the country.

JCI National President Niaz Morshed Elite stated that “Junior Chamber International is the only organization in the world where young people can develop their social and go forward being a leader through their talents & works. JCI Bangladesh will continue to work relentlessly alongside such great sustainable activities of the youth” Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University, stated that “Our University has expressed solidarity gratitude towards these great works and such great initiatives taken by JCI Bangladesh which is surely beneficial for the nation.” JCI Bangladesh has been working in the service of humanity for a long time. Under the leadership of JCI Dhaka Central, this cancer project is moving forward with the youth of the country. Society has become dynamic, and the country has awakened the nation.
