
Dhaka – Border Security Force of India has gunned down two Bangladeshi nationals in two frontier districts of Kurigram in the north and Jhenidah in the southwest, officials said on Friday.
A Bangladeshi youth was killed as the BSF troops opened fire near Goytarpar frontier in Roumari sub-district of Kurigram in the early hours of the day.
The victim was identified as Dukhu Mia, 28, son of Abdul Hye of Fakirpara village, said Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer and Border Guard Bangladesh.
The BSF personnel opened fire on some Bangladeshi people while they were crossing near the main pillar no 1068 at about 5 am. The officer said Dukhu Mia was shot dead on the spot while the others managed to flee the scene.
In Jhenidah, the Indian troops have killed Jashim Mandal, 32, near Baghadanga bordering area in Maheshpur.
Maheshpur camp official Idris Ali said the BSF members opened fire on Jashim while he along with some other people went to Hazrar Khal area for bringing cattle in the morning.
Jasim died on the scene and the BSF pulled the body into the Indian Territory while the others managed to escape the scene.
Bangladesh lodged protest officially and sent a letter to BSF authorities in connection with the incident, said the BGB officer.
