BNP leader Sohel lands in jail

Dhaka – A joint secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was sent to jail after he appeared before a Dhaka court in cases related to street vandalism, officials said on Sunday.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court ordered sending Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, a leader of the opposition party, to the jail.
Sohel was accused in a total of 41 cases filed during the past years when his party enforced non-stop transport blockade, strikes that went violent and left many people killed.
Sanaullah Miah, a defence lawyer, said the court rejected his bail and ordered sending him to the jail
