Dhaka – Bangladesh has reported 41 more deaths from the novel coronavirus, raising the toll to 2,238, a health official said on Thursday.
Some 3,360 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours ended on Thursday morning, bringing the total number of Covid-19 patients to 1,75,494 since the South Asian country diagnosed the first cases on March 8, Nasima Sultana of the directorate general of health services said.
A total of 84,544 people recovered with 3,706 patients reported their condition improved further, she said.
The recovery rate is 48.17 per cent and the death rate is 1.28 per cent.
Bangladesh confirmed the first coronavirus death on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
