Dhaka – The novel coronavirus has killed 41 more people in Bangladesh, raising the national death toll from the virus to 2,709 in the South Asian country, a top official said on Tuesday.
Additional director general of the health services directorate Nasima Sultana said some 3,057 new cases were detected after the approved labs conducted tested on 12,898 samples during the last 24 hours.
She said with the new cases the total number of infection stands at 210,510.
The total infection rate is 19.96 percent so far while the death rate at 1.29 percent.
The recovery count rose to 1,15,397 with the condition of 1,841 patients improved in the last 24 hours. The country’s recovery rate at 54.82 percent.
Bangladesh reported the first three cases of novel coronavirus on March 8, and the first death was reported on March 18.
