Bangladesh reports 37 more Covid-19 deaths

Dhaka – Bangladesh has reported 37 more deaths from the novel coronavirus, raising the toll from Covid-19 disease to 1,425, officials said on Saturday.

Some 3,240 fresh infections have also been reported in the last 24 hours ended on Saturday morning, making the total cases to 108,775, according to Nasima Sultana, the additional director of health services department.

She said the recovery count rose to 43,993 after condition of another 1,048 patients improved during the period. The recovery rate is 40.44 per cent.

A total of 14,031 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, she added.

Bangladesh reported its first three cases of novel coronavirus on March 8, and the first death from the disease was reported ten days later on March 18.
