Dhaka – Bangladesh has reported 30 more deaths from the novel coronavirus raising the death toll from the deadly virus to 7,428, according to an official tally released on Saturday.
The fresh deaths were reported in the last 24 hours ended on Saturday morning, a release by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said adding that the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.
Some 508,099 people contacted the virus since the South Asian country reported three cases of novel coronavirus on March 8.
The health officials recorded 834 new infections in the last 24 hours with the current positivity rate is 8.41 percent. The total positivity rate stands at 16.08 percent.
A total of 9,912 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.
At least 1,685 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period, making the total number of recoveries to 450,488. The recovery rate is 88.66 per cent.
