Dhaka – The Tigers on Sunday leveled the three-match series 1-1 defeating the visiting England by 34 runs at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Mashrafe Mortaza was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with four wickets for 29 in 8.4 overs. The English innings was finished at 44.4 over as they were chasing a moderate target of 239.

Taskin Ahmed contributed to Bangladesh’s cause by taking three wickets while Shakib, Nasir and Mosaddek grabbed one each.

For England, only five batters reached double-digits in terms of runs scored. Jos Buttler’s 57 was the highlight of their scoreboard.

Earlier, Bangladesh set a 239-run target for England as they were sent for batting first.

Mahmudullah hit 75 to make the 238-8 for although the Tigers lose early wickets in the second of the three-match series.

The batsman held together the innings as English bowlers made regular inroads after stand-in captain Jos Buttler opted to bowl first.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s late surge helped Bangladesh reach a respectable total as it attempts to level the series.

Mortaza smashed 44 and added 69 off 48 balls with Nasir Hossain after Bangladesh was left struggling on 169-7 after 42 overs.

Mosaddek Hossain contributed 29. Nasir Hossain was not out on 27. Returned after a long time, Hossain showed him worthy for the match.

Fast bowlers Chris Woakes and Jake Ball and leg-spinner Adil Rashid claimed two wickets apiece.

Mashrafi and Shakib al Hasan made the visiting team tottering. England lost four wickets until the 10^th over. Shakib took one wicket while Mashrafi took three.
