Bangladesh, India to sign three deals during Hasina’s Delhi visit

Bangladesh and India are likely to ink three deals during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to New Delhi to attend the G-20 Leader’s Summit this week.

The two next-door neighbours will sign the Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of Cooperation in the agriculture research sector’, ‘Cultural exchange’ and ‘Simplification of financial transactions between the common people of Bangladesh and India, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen told reporters on Thursday.

Prime Minister Hasina will leave Dhaka for New Delhi on Friday at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the G-20 summit from September 8-10.

During her trip Bangladeshi premier Hasina will join the bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart Modi in the afternoon.

India’s G-20 presidency began in December 2022 and during this term India invited a total nine countries including Bangladesh to attend in all the G-20 meetings.

Foreign minister said Bangladesh is participating in all the meetings of the 18th G-20 hosted by India and presenting Bangladesh’s position and recommendations on various issues which have been appreciated by the participating countries including the host country India.
