Bangladesh announces squad for 2019 ICC World Cup

Dhaka – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC World Cup 2019 beginning in the end of May in the United Kingdom.

Mashrafe Mortaza, who led Bangladesh for more than 70 ODIs since 2010, was made the captain of the squad, said BCB’s Chief selector Minhajul Abedin at a news conference in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Bangladesh will face South Africa in its first match on June 2 at The Oval as all 10 teams are scheduled to play each other in a round-robin format.

The Squad: Liton Kumar Das, Mohammad Mithun, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Shakib Al Hasan (vice captain), Tamim Iqbal Khan, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Saifuddin, Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Mehedi Miraz, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain and , Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), according to the announcement.
