
Dhaka – Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam has said there is none in the world can defeat his party had its leaders and activists are united.
There is no political party in the world which made sacrifices as much that the Awami League did for the causes of the people, he said while addressing the party’s 20th national council session in Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Uddyan on Saturday.
Awami League cannot be compared with any other political parties in the world in terms in its history of sacrifice, he said.
Ashraful, also the Public Administration Minister, was seemed emotion chocked while delivering his speech at the council, inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the president of the party.
Many attempts were there win the past to destroy the party, but it is proved the Awami League cannot be defeated.

“Awami League is the name of a sentiment. It is a philosophy. All we need to remain united,” he said referring to the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and murder of the four-national leaders in jail in 1975, and tens of thousands of AL leaders and activists.
The party was created through the sacrifices of many lives of its leaders and activists.
He said the party is proved to be time-tested. As long as Sheikh Hasina is alive she will lead the party. But the party will never die if she is not there.
“Our party is more consolidated, stronger than that of it was in the past,” Ashraful said.
