Dhaka – Arrest warrant has been served against 16 leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders and activists in a case related to use of explosives during street agitation.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order against the BNP men, including Barkatullah Bulu and Shimul Biswas, for their involvement in a case lodged under Explosive Substances Act.
The court asked the investigators to submit report on the progress of court order on February 2.
Police filed the case against them on March 19, 2015, with capital’s Mirpur Model Police Station for carrying out acts of sabotage.
Investigators formally pressed the charges against BNP leaders and activists as they were allegedly carried out the acts of sabotages during the anti-government agitation.
The accused remained absconding, said a police officer.
