Bangladeshi movie actress Pori Moni has been arrested at her home in Dhaka’s Banani, police said on Wednesday.

The actress, made controversy after brining allegation of sexual harassment against one of the businessman in June, was picked up by the Rapid Action Battalion in the afternoon after they searched her house for more than three hours at her Banani residence.

Television footage show piles of bottled foreign liquor that the battalion members confiscated. But there was no specific allegation that the battalion members disclosed yet.

But a senior RAB officer said the raid was conducted based on specific information. The search operation her residence began in the afternoon.

Thousands of onlookers thronged around her home after the battalion officers began the drive. The actress initially in a social media live claimed that her residence was attacked by unknown people and she sought police protection.

Later she opened her door to allow the RAB to get in, and the Facebook live went off.

In June, Pori Moni accused a leading businessman of sexually harassing her at a club in Dhaka. Businessman Nasiruddin Mahmud and several others were arrested after she filed a case against him.
