Bangladesh has once again become the number one contributor of troops to the United Nations Peace Keeping operations, according to ISPR.
Currently 6,791 Bangladeshi men and women are working as blue berets bringing peace in strife-torn countries across the world. There are currently 119 countries participating in peace missions.
In a related development, Major General M. Main Ullah Chowdhury will soon take up the prestigious position of Deputy Force Commander in South Sudan under United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). Currently there 1,644 Bangladesh peace keepers are working under UNMISS.
