Bangladesh has reported 36 more deaths from COVID-19, which is caused by novel coronavirus, raising the fatality toll to 4,552 in the South Asian country, according to the health ministry statement released on Tuesday.
Some 1,892 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours ended on Tuesday morning. With the new cases, the total number of infections stands at 329,251, the ministry said.
The recovery count rose to 227,809 after another 3,236 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
A total of 14,973 samples were tested at 94 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.
Of the total sample tests in the past 24 hours, 12.64 percent tested positive, while 19.84 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.
Among the total infections, 69.19 percent patients have recovered. The death rate is 1.38 percent.
Bangladesh reported the first case of novel coronavirus on March 18, more than a week after the first cases were reported.
