Dhaka – Bangladesh has reported 41 more deaths from the novel coronavirus, raising to the toll to 3,083, officials said on Thursday.
Some 2,695 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours ended on Thursday morning, making the total number of infection to 234,889 since the South Asian country reported the first cases in early March, said Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the health services directorate.
She said the recovery count rose to 132,960 with another 2,668 patients recovered during the period.
The health official also informed that a total of 12,937 samples were tested at 82 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.
Of the total sample test in the past 24 hours, 20.83 percent tested positive, while 20.18 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, she added.
Among the total infections, 56.61 percent patients have recovered, while 1.31 percent died.
