Dhaka – Bangladesh has reported 50 more deaths from novel coronavirus, raising the toll from the virus to 2,668, officials said on Monday.
Health directorate spokesperson Nasima Sultana said some 2,928 fresh cases have also been reported in the last 24 hours ended on Monday morning raising the total number of infection to 207,453 since the South Asian country detected the first cases in March.
She said the recovery count rose to 1,13,556 with the condition of another 1,914 patients improved during this period.
Sultana added a total of 13,362 samples were tested at 80 authorized laboratories in the last 24 hours.
She said 54.74 percent patients have recovered while 1.29 percent died so far.
Dhaka, Narayanganj and Chattogram are still considered as COVID-19 hotspots because the maximum numbers of cases were detected in the three cities.
