Dhaka – Bangladesh has reported 55 more deaths from novel coronavirus, raising the toll from the deadly virus to 2,151, health officials said on Tuesday.
With 3,027 fresh infections reported in the last 24 hours ended on Tuesday morning, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 169,645 since the South Asian country reported the first three cases of the virus on March 8.
Some 13,173 samples were tested during the last 24 hours.
Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the health services directorate, said the recovery count rose to 78,102 after condition of another 1,953 patients improved during this time.
Among the total infections, 46.31 percent patients have recovered while 1.21 percent died, she said.
Bangladesh confirmed the first coronavirus death on March 18.
