Dhaka – Health officials reported 34 more deaths from novel coronavirus infections in Bangladesh on Saturday, making the toll to 1,695 in the South Asian country.
Some 3,504 fresh infections were reported in the last 24 hours ended on Saturday morning, said Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the government health services directorate.
The total number of infections in the country is now 133,978m she added.
The recovery count rose to 54,318 after condition of another 1,185 patients improved, she said.
The health official also informed that a total of 15,157 samples were tested at 58 the authorised laboratories across the country during the time.
Among patients 40.54 percent recovered while 1.27 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported on March 8, she said.
