Dhaka – Journalist Mashuk Chowdhury has been died of pneumonia. He was 73.
Chowdhury, a poet and chief news editor of Bangla daily Bangladesh Protidin, breathed his last at Rushmono Specialised Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday, his family said.
Ashraful Haider Chowdhury, his younger brother, said that his brother had been suffering from pneumonia for the last couple of weeks. He was tested negative for coronavirus.
He left behind his wife, a daughter and host of relatives and well-wishers.
He was buried at Madartek graveyard after two funeral prayers at Hajipara and Uttar Madartek Baitullah Jam-e- mosque.
Chowdhury, who studied Bangla at the Dhaka University and took on journalism as a profession, for daily Sangbad, daily Khabar, Dainik Desh and few other newspapers.
He authored to a number of books including Muktijuddha Priyatama Amar, Nirbachito Kabita, ‘Swarger Replica’ and Nadir Naam Dushomoy.
