Maldives to reopen to tourists next month

International desk : – As the novel coronavirus pandemic forced authorities to shut many attractions across the globe. And the beautiful tourist sites in the Maldives, an island state in the Arabian Sea of the Indian Ocean which attracts millions of visitors mostly from the West, was not an exception.

But the authorities in the South Asian country have decided to reopen resorts from July 15.

And its President Ibrahim Solih said international tourists will be welcomed.

Foreign visitors will not need to undergo virus tests to enter the country, according to officials.

The Maldives economy depended mostly on tourism.

In the wake of virus pandemic, the Island nation banned arrivals of foreign tourists in March to prevent the spread of the virus. The country reported more than 2,200 cases of novel coronavirus. The island’s total population of about 340,000.
